Camp Bisco 8 Remix Contest Concludes!
The Winner is... Philadelphia's Maniac All-Stars

Five first place winners and one grand prize winner have been selected for the first annual Camp Bisco remix contest. For the first time, aspiring DJ/producers from around the country had the opportunity to remix top notch artists including the Disco Biscuits, The Orb, Dr. Dog, Telepath and John Brown's Body. After much deliberation and several days spent poring over hundreds of entries, The Maniac All-Stars were selected as the grand prize winner for their "Rebirth" remix of the song "Subterfuge" by live electronica band Telepath . The track went to the top of the Acidplanet charts the day before the contest ended and remained there as of this release. The Maniac All-Stars are a production duo is made up of brothers Antonio "DJ Satisfaction" and Dennis Gonzalez from Philadelphia, PA. The All-Stars are relatively new to Acidplanet joining only this month, but have won several remix contests including VH1's The Score to create the theme song for the 2007 Hip-Hop Honors Show.

The Maniac All-Stars win a unique performance opportunity to spin a primetime Friday afternoon set at Camp Bisco between Planet Mu recording artist Starkey and Chicago DJ collective the Orchard Lounge. Four other finalists will receive a prize pack that includes Festival passes with backstage access, the newest version of Sony's Acid Pro 7 remixing software, a handful of Acid loop libraries and one year subscriptions to Remix and Electronic Musician magazines. The Disco Biscuits will continue the tradition of bringing cutting edge acts to Mariaville, New York, when Camp Bisco VIII, the eighth annual three-day music and arts festival, returns this July 16-18, 2009. As hosts of Camp Bisco, one of the country's largest and longest running electronic/rock music festivals, the Disco Biscuits have continued to bring a myriad of talent to the scene in recent years, including: Snoop Dogg, Thievery Corporation, DJ Shadow, MSTRKRFT, The Roots, Infected Mushroom, STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9), Shpongle, Younger Brother, Bassnectar, and !!!. This 2009 lineup will include three full nights of the Disco Biscuits with the full performer lineup to be announced in coming weeks.

Camp Bisco VIII will once again be held at the picturesque Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, New York.  The venue is located approximately 20 minutes travel time from Albany, New York, and sits on 200 acres of rolling, grass fields. The grounds come equipped with full bathrooms; which include flush toilets and showers, as well as 24/7 bathroom attendants. Festival goers will have access to a full bar on site and a general store, which sells almost every necessity for a comfortable and care free experience, including alcohol.

Early bird tickets go on sale Thursday, January 29TH at 10am, for a limited time only and begin at $115.  Tickets are available online at both www.campbisco.net and 1-800-594-TIXX. VIP packages are available for an additional $225 per ticket purchase.

15 cents of every ticket sold will be donated to Trees For The Future, an organization that has been the steward of planting trees throughout the world since the early 1970s in an effort to remedy the effects of illegal logging and unsustainable land management systems on the world's developing communities.  Once again, Camp Bisco will be working with Headcount, a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization devoted to voter registration and participation in democracy. BE-Green ticket upgrades will also be sold for an additional $2.50. Funds raised by the BE-Green upgrades will be used to offset carbon emissions through the use of renewable energy sources.

Camp Bisco VIII is promoted by MCP Presents and hosted by The Disco Biscuits. Greening partners include Green Mountain Energy Company – the nation's leading provider of cleaner electricity and carbon offset products.
